Computer Science with Ms. Lee

In Computer Science, not only do we cover the fundamentals of computer hardware, software, and coding, but we also discuss how students can be safer online! Students can use digital citizenship skills in order to safely participate in communities and make wise decisions on the computer. At Crestview, we go through the Digital Citizenship curriculum from Kindergarten to 6th grade.

Our second graders have covered a multitude of online safety topics such as private and public information, how to describe an online community, and what it means to be kind online. Students also learned how to deal with comments that may not be kind. At home, we encourage parents to be a part of their child's online community in order to filter their online choices. As students spend more time on their devices, we want students to use technology as a tool to help enhance their learning experience!
