The fourth grade class is an artistically talented bunch! In order to showcase their talents, art has been integrated across the subjects, even in math! The fourth graders have been completing “FACEing Math” activities in which they answer math problems and based on their answers, they follow specific drawing instructions that result in a detailed picture. In addition, students learned about the engineering marvels of the transcontinental railroad and the Golden Gate Bridge for social studies this month. The students drew detailed pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge and the results were amazing! As the famous artist Al Hirschfield once said, “Artists are just children who refuse to put down their crayons.” I hope these fourth graders never put down their crayons!
