Girls On The Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
The program was developed to create a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
Now more than ever, age-old gender stereotypes and ongoing societal obstacles require a commitment to strengthening a sense of confidence in young girls by fostering care and compassion for self and others. Stressors and trauma related to Covid-19 are undoubtedly negatively impacting girls. Now more than ever, our girls need to be accepted, inspired, and motivated.
Here at Crestview, we have been a private Girls on the Run site, exclusively serving our 3rd-6th grade girls for over 4 years. Our program is lead by four of our teachers, Ms. Baker, Ms. Lee, Ms. Thai, and Ms. Hage. Now more than ever, our coaches are ecstatic to be back coaching in person for the 8th season of Girls on the Run.
Our 10 week fall session will begin next Tuesday, September 28th and conclude with a Crestview GOTR 5k in early December. We will meet 2x/week before school; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-9 am where the girls will participate in a core lesson of the day as well as run laps on our back field. Each day a fitness and a social/emotional goal is set and our young ladies leave feeling ready to conquer the day.
