Our Third Graders are becoming authors! In writing class, they have been busy writing books on topics where they are the experts. Some of these topics include baseball, chess, soccer, acting, reptiles, and guinea pigs. They have taken what they have learned about the art of information writing and are applying these skills in the development of their books. Such skills include brainstorming, researching, organizing ideas, structuring information in a manner that will be easily understood by their reader and studying mentor texts to learn how to elaborate on their ideas.
