Fourth Grade Market

The Fourth Grade Market was successful beyond all of our expectations and we could not be more
proud. We nearly doubled our goal in raising a total of $1091.50 for the Ascencia Family Shelter in Glendale. This is truly incredible-thank you, Crestview families.

There was a lot of work that went into making this market successful. Once approved as an in-person event, everyone went into high gear making crafts, potting plants and collecting books. Our Crestview community really came together and each grade and Eco-Club participated in pulling this event off. However, it was not just the market that made this is a for a special event, the 4th graders put a lot of research into figuring out what organization they wanted to support. After an anonymous vote Ascencia was chosen, the students made Google Slide shows to present to lower elementary and explain their cause. They also read a picture book to the younger students about homelessness and answered some hard questions about this important issue. All the proceeds from the market will go to Ascencia's "Move-In Monday" program. This program kicks off Ascencia's clients with a fresh start by providing them with new household essentials for their new home. This week, the children selected actual items that will be sent next week to Ascencia, including a refrigerator, mattress, bed and microwave! This program really helps our children see their actions as concrete. Thank you, Crestview!
