Second graders have been learning all about family and heritage. We have learned so much about our families at home and our class family here at school! We’ve talked about ancestors, family traditions and culture. Our classrooms have been filled with important conversations about how all may come from different places, the different languages we speak and how we celebrate holidays. Students have conducted family interviews and have started building family trees. Also, each student has created a personal timeline highlighting important events in their lives. Some of these events include learning to walking as a baby, losing a tooth for the first time and starting school at Crestview. It’s been wonderful learning about all of our similarities and the differences that shape who we are as we grow as a Second Grade family.
