Library

In library class we are getting back into the rhythm of the school year by focusing on two Essential Questions: How do I use the library to learn?  And how do I find the books and materials I am looking for?  With these questions in mind, the upper grades did a Library Scavenger Hunt where they looked for clues hidden strategically throughout the library. As they looked for clues, they reviewed the basic layout of the library and where to find specific topics of high interest such as mythology, pets, and fantasy fiction. In the lower grades we shared book and library themed stories and introduced the concept of call numbers (they are like the book’s “address” in the library) and why we use shelf markers. And, of course, everyone checked out a book, or two, or three to take home!
