In kindergarten, students have been getting “hands-on” with tools during their environmental science class. Students began the year learning that the Earth and our State of California have many unique places that plants, animals, and people call home. They thought about the question, "Does the Earth feel?" and devised wishes for the Earth that will be displayed around campus. Like any good scientist, students need tools to help them investigate the world around them. The first tools students explored were hand lenses, which they used on a nature walk around campus to look at various natural items on display. The kindergarteners already have many questions about the natural world and are eagerly sharing their knowledge. We look forward to further learning and investigations with these budding environmental scientists.
