We’re off to a great start in Mrs. Contreras’ music classes! All upper elementary students began the year with rhythmic games, name games, passing games, and a basic review of skills learned last year. Working together while playing games is a great way to build community. Recently, Ms. Mirabian’s fourth grade has been developing skills on the Orff instruments and learning about improvisation, and Ms. Valencia’s class is quickly building on the recorder skills begun last year. The fifth graders have been working on rhythms and body percussion sequences, and the sixth graders are already mastering their first two ukulele chords! Bravo, Crestview Musicians!
