Third Grade

In third grade, learning about the United States just got a creative twist! Our amazing students are diving deep into understanding what makes each state unique—their governments, laws, state symbols, economies, and topographies—and using that knowledge to build something entirely new. This month, the students are working in pairs to design the "51st State of the United States," and their enthusiasm is contagious!

In this engaging project, students are learning about the diverse elements that define a state, from its capital and flag to its natural resources and jobs. They're discovering that each state has its own character, influenced by its geography, history, and the people who call it home. With this understanding, our third graders are creating detailed brochures that aim to persuade Americans from other states to move to their brand-new 51st state. These brochures are a unique blend of art, creative writing, and social studies, showcasing the creativity and collaboration happening in our classrooms.
