Exploring the Concept of Identity in First Grade

The Fall season is here, and we have transitioned well into our classroom routines! In first grade, students began to explore the concept of identity by discovering what makes them special and unique. With special activities like drawing self-portraits, greeting one another, and team building, they learned to recognize and celebrate their own characteristics, such as their likes, dislikes, family background, and cultural traditions. Through these activities, students developed a deeper understanding of who they are while also appreciating the diversity of their peers and allowing for meaningful connections and relationship building. This helped foster a positive sense of self and a supportive classroom community.

We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!
